Update on Corey’s Surgery and Recovery

Hi everyone.   I wanted to write a quick note to update everyone on how I’m coming along.  First off, I miss everyone SO MUCH, and that has to be the hardest part of being away!!!  For those of you who didn’t know, I had to have yet another spine surgery on 9/26.  As of today I’m a week into recovery, and things are progressing well.  I had an Anterior Lumbar Fusion.  Not ideal, I know, but had to be done.

Since last Wednesday I’ve been home recovering.  Healing is coming along steadily, and I’m out walking a couple times a day to keep everything moving.  I’m really hoping to be back teaching by mid October. I wish it was sooner, but I’ve been advised to take things very slow at first to allow for proper healing, and to give time for the fusion to begin.  Too much too soon can result in another procedure which I’m trying to avoid at all costs.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who texted me, sent cards, and sent us food.  This helped my family immensely as I’m of no use in the kitchen at the moment, and my wife is left with all the kids duties, plus cooking for her and I.  I can’t express how grateful I am for all of your kindness.

That’s it for now.  Please text, email, call or stop over anytime.  I’m usually just home resting or hanging with my dog during the week, so I’d love to hear from you.

Be well, and talk later.
